John Renwick, over sixty years old, long time sidecar constructor and racer is an expert tuner of the vintage Vincent engines and he uses a 950s engine with high tech additions to build his aerodynamic sidecar which he intends to take personally to over 280 km/ hr on the Bonneville flats in the USA in 2008, competing with younger riders with more modern engines. He is helped by famous and less famous friends: John Surtees among the old hands, photographer and collector Giovanni Cabassi among the sponsors. John Renwick and Giovanni Cabassi have come together to prove that the Vincent engine, combined with the perfect side car, can break the land speed record.
The world land speed record project is the culmination of years of preparation.
