This Trident came on the scene too late to save the British industry, or what was left of it. Fatal inactivity in the face of ever increasing competition from Japan delayed its introduction by several years and when it did arrive, the very sophisticated 750cc CB750 Honda was announced at almost the same time.
Only the Trident survived the BSA Triumph Group's collapse in 1972, continuing as the T150V and later the T160. The number of important production race victories achieved is eloquent testimony to how effective and powerfull a well-fettled triple can be. The bike on display was Giacomo Agostini`s personal 1968 T150; the one he was used to ride for test on open road tracks. It was in fact the only 3 cylinder 4 stroke available, just the same architecture of his GP MV.
